Four members of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) quit as MPs. These are Natalia Gavrilița, Andrei Spînu, Sergiu Litvinenco and Dumitru Budianschi. The Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities on September 8 approved the reports on the draft decisions concerning the resignations tendered by the four MPs, IPN reports.
Natalia Gavrilița vacated her seat because she was named Prime Minister. The other three persons decided in favor of posts in the Cabinet. Andrei Spînu serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Dumitru Budianschi as Minister of Finance, while Sergiu Litvinenco as Minister of Justice.
According to the list of substitute candidates for MP, the PAS parliamentary group will be joined by Viorel Barda (jurist), Ana Calinici (jurist), Evghenia Cojocari (teacher) and Boris Popa (jurist).
The seat of MP is incompatible with office of President of the Republic of Moldova, member of the Cabinet, ombudsperson and local elected official. The incompatibility also intervenes when any other remunerated posts is held, including in a foreign state or at an international organization, except for teaching and scientific activity performed outside the set program.
