The leaders of four nongovernmental organizations accuse the Chisinau-based Sancos Clinic of illegally occupying about 500 square meters of the basement of the building where they have their offices. They say that this area belongs to them under the decisions of the District Economic Court, which obliged the Chisinau Municipal Council to sign a lease contract with them last February, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The City Hall did not want to make such a contract even if the Economic and Patrimony Relations Division calculated the rent that we must pay,” the head of the Association of Armed Forces Reservists Andrei Mereuta told a news conference on Monday.
The clinic is accused of breaking a wall and starting a large extension late in summer, when the members of the four associations were on vacation, without having a reconstruction document.
Alexei Sarbu, the head of the national association “For the Prosperity of the National Culture”, said it is not excluded that officials of the City Hall promote the interests of the clinic and the lease contract thus remains unsigned.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the clinic’s director Valeriu Oglinda said the abovementioned accusations are absurd. “The given building is owned by the local authorities and only the Chisinau Municipal Council can decide whom to give it. We did not enter that place illegally,” Valeriu Oglinda said, adding the repair works carried out at the clinic had been coordinated with the City Hall.
Earlier, that place was occupied by SA Moldtelecom. In 2008, Moldtelecom would have allowed the Association of Armed Forces Reservists to take out the lease. The leaders of the four NGOs - the Association of Armed Forces Reservists, the Association of War Participants, the national association “For the Prosperity of the National Culture”, and the Sailors’ Association – request the City Hall to implement the District Economic Court’s decision and sign a lease contract with them.
