There are four new persons in the new Government. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will be managed by Natalia Gherman, Moldova’s chief negotiator in the relations with the EU. Monica Babuc, who was adviser to the Speaker until recently, will lead the Ministry of Culture. The Ministry of Youth and Sport will be headed by Octavian Bodisteanu, who was deputy minister until now, while the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure will be managed by the Democratic Party and Vasile Botnari, MP, former Air Moldova director, will be Transport Minister, IPN reports.

The Communist MPs asked for a pause to examine the proposed nominal list of Cabinet members.

Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu expressed his indignation at the fact that he didn’t know the list. He expressed his skepticism, saying the list may include persons with a criminal record.

The Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities hasn’t yet pronounced on the application filed by Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca and the nominal composition of the Cabinet that is to be voted.
