Four Moldovans killed in plane accident in Ivory Coast

Four Moldovan citizens died in a plane accident in the Ivory Coast in the morning of October 14. According to the information obtained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration through the Embassy of Moldova in Paris, the plane failed to safely land at the airport in Abidjan owing to the unfavorable weather, IPN reports.

The Ministry said the plane performed flights for the French army and had ten persons on board, six of whom were Moldovans and four were French citizens. Four Moldovans died on the spot, while the other two were taken over by the French army for being provided medical care. The Ministry keeps in touch with the authorities of the Ivory Coast to establish the identity of the Moldovans involved in the accident and will take all the necessary measures.

In connection with the accident, Prime Minister Pavel Filip ordered to create a cell crisis that would include representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the Aviation Authority for verifying the information about the identity of the Moldovan citizens and having direct c with the competent authorities of the involved countries to provide the necessary assistance to the hurt Moldovans.

The Ministry will provide updated information when more details become available.
