Four Moldovans injured at building site in Russia

Four Moldovan nationals were injured in a labor accident at a building site in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said the Moldovan Embassy in Moscow is in permanent contact with the Russian authorities and with the hospital where the constructors are being treated for their injuries.

The Emergencies Inspectorate said the injured workers are men aged 29, 30, 33 and 41.

A Moldovan MFA spokesperson told IPN the accident involved collapsed scaffolding. Other workers were also hurt, and one died in the accident. The Moldovans are in stable condition and their lives are not at threat.

The Russian authorities are investigating whether the construction company respected labor safety standards and provided proper equipment to their workers.
