Four minors aged between 12 and 15 were found at a terrace in Chisinau supposedly with acute intoxication caused by prohibited substances, IPN reports.
The National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance said that the minors complained about headaches, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, vomiting, numbness of the lower limbs and general weakness.
The members of the ambulance team gave them first aid at the pre-hospital stage. Subsequently, with permanent monitoring of the vital parameters, the children were transported to the Mother and Child Institute.
“Drug abuse is a harsh reality among minors and must be taken seriously. An increasing number of adolescents use banned substances, although this is illegal and dangerous. Some teenagers try drugs occasionally, but this can lead to addiction and serious health problems,” noted the Center.
The institution urges the parents to be more vigilant and prevent teenagers from ruining not only their health and social life, but also their future. Drug addiction turns into one of the dangers of the century.
Drug use is one of the major causes of preventable mortality among young people, both directly, through overdose, and indirectly, through diseases, accidents, violence and suicide associated with drug use. Data presented by the National Public Health Agency show that at the end of 2022, the cumulative number of officially registered drug users was almost 12,000, including 582 new cases, the incidence being 39.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 26.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2021.
