Forty pupils of vocational school hospitalized after food intoxication

Forty teenagers were admitted to hospital after a food poisoning received while taking dinner in the canteen of the hostel belonging to vocational School nr.3, located on Decebal Blvd in the capital. Requested by Info-Prim Neo, head of the Municipal Center for Preventive Medicine Iurie Panzaru said the victims are aged 16-19. On Wednesday, November 23 they had pilaf for dinner. On Thursday morning, 15 of them reported symptoms of food intoxication and were taken to the hospital for infectious diseases. Another 25 pupils of the same school, including those living in the city, were hospitalized in the afternoon as well. The cited source reports that for the time being the cause of the food poisoning is not yet certain. Investigations are underway to establish it. According to Iurie Panzaru, the canteen of the trade school, opened on September 20, and has operated having no sanitary certificate. According to coordinating doctor of the Emergency Service in Chisinau Silvia Babara, seven teams of doctors were involved in providing urgent medical care to all poisoned teenagers.
