Thirty women who had been in jail, including HIV-infected ones, will be trained to do the cleaning professionally so that they could later works as cleaners, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Any work should be done professionally. In Moldova, the cleaners learn this job themselves. I think these courses will be opportune,” Liubov Nemchinova, coordinator of the Strengthening Moldovan Civil Society Organizations in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care for Women and Juvenile Prisoners Project, told a news conference. The former female convicts will be also offered informational and psychological support and assistance in finding a job. “We must negotiate with employers and convince them to hire former women prisoners,” said Liubov Nemchinova. The Strengthening Moldovan Civil Society Organizations in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care for Women and Juvenile Prisoners Project was launched by the International Society for Human Rights – Moldovan Section in partnership with the German organization “Pro NGO! e.V”. Its budget is €517,000. The project is 80% financed by the European Union. The training of former women prisoners is one of the project activities. The activities will also include provision of psychological and social assistance in solving HIV/AIDS problems and strengthening of the relations between detained persons and their families.
