A woman from Rezina was sentenced to 12 years in jail for misappropriation. Working as a cashier at the branch of Banca de Economii (“Savings Bank”) in Pripiceni-Razesi village of Rezina district, she appropriated 891,000 lei from 13 deposit accounts opened fictitiously in the names of ten possible depositors, IPN reports.
It was also established that when working as head of the Pripiceni-Razesi post office already, the woman appropriated 34,000 lei, which was collected from villagers for paying for public utilities.
The woman was taken into custody in the courtroom. The court also ordered that the defendant should pay damages to the Rezina postal center. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
