Former Hancesti commissioner stands trial

The Hancesti Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against the former commissioner of the district for hooliganism. During the investigation, the prosecutors established that in the evening of November 3, 2012, the former commissioner, being under the influence of alcohol, threatened a man and didn’t comply with the requests of the police officer who came to the scene, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the former commissioner insulted a man and threatened him with detention. He also ill-treated and insulted an employee of the Ministry of the Interior. Later, the Ministry launched an internal inquiry into this case of hooliganism as a result of which the commissioner of Hancesti was dismissed from his post. Under the Penal Code of Moldova, hooliganism is punished with a fine of 4,000 to 14,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service, or up to three years in jail.
