The formation of a ruling alliance in Chisinau is more important than the person who will occupy the post of Prime Minister, George Scarlat, expert of the Black Sea University Foundation, said in the talk show “European horizon” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“Moldova is dependent on foreign financing. These three parties should form an alliance and should unblock the foreign financing. They must do reforms, liquidate the three banks and fight corruption. It does not really matter who the future Premier will be – a stout man or a man with moustache,” he stated.

The Romanian expert expressed his conviction that a pro-European ruling alliance will be formed in Moldova. “The external pressure is too great and the internal pressure is not smaller. They lost six precious months and did nothing meanwhile. The appointment of the Premier is an interesting matter. In our country and in other states, they designate the Premier and then form the Government. In Chisinau, it is different. But it is good even so,” said George Scarlat.

According to him, the head of state in Moldova should be elected by Parliament by a simple majority of votes. “The provision that the President is elected by at least 61 votes turned out to be a great source of instability.  After 2009, early elections in Moldova were held two times. There was also a failed referendum. The direct election of the head of state is not a solution when society is deeply divided,” he stated.
