The foreign affairs ministers of the Benelux countries , Didier Reynders (Belgium), Frans Timmermans (the Netherlands) and Jean Asselborn (Luxemburg), are paying a joint visit to Moldova on September 5. The three officials were invited to visit Moldova by Deputy Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Foreign Ministry, the visit by the ministers of the three countries that founded the European Union before the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit comes to confirm the support for Moldova’s reformation program. The officials will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Head of Parliament Igor Corman, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Gherman.
The visit of the high-ranking European officials confirms the continuity of the political and diplomatic dialogue with the three states, which is intended to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between Moldova and the Benelux countries, and to promote topical subjects from the bilateral agenda.
