Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, transmitted a solidarity message to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in connection with the murder of Russia’s Ambassador in Ankara Andrei Karlov.
In his message, the official says the Moldovan authorities firmly condemn this barbarous attack against an ambassador and reiterate the necessity of combing efforts with the international community in combating terrorist attacks. Minister Andrei Galbur offered his condolences to the ambassador’s family and expressed solidarity with the Russian people in these difficult moments.
The Russian Ambassador to Turkey was shot in the back by an ex-police officer who is investigated for involvement in a coup. The diplomat was giving a speech at a photo gallery in Ankara when he was attacked. Andrei Karlov died as a result of the sustained injuries.
