Foreign Minister greets new ambassador of France in Chisinau

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, greeted the new Ambassador of France to Moldova Dominique Waag. In a short diplomatic meeting, the two officials discussed the good relations between Moldova and France, joint projects in the field of economy and France’s support for the accession to the European Union.

They also discussed how more French investors can be attracted to Moldova and the collaboration between educational institutions. The fight against disinformation and fake news was another topic.

The two officials conferred on the regional and international political situation, talking about the new government in France and the political events in Moldova.

Dominique Waag took over the position of Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova in September 2024. Earlier, she served as Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro (2021-2024). In her diplomatic career, she also held the posts of deputy head of the Embassy of France in Bulgaria (2015 -2021), consul general in Egypt (Alexandria) and political counselor at the Embassies of France in Algeria and Tunisia.
