Foreign investors to come together in Chisinau at end-June

The International Investment Forum that is usually organized in October this year will take place during June 22-25. It will form part of the program of the Moldova Business Week 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Kalmyk said the forum will center on the world crisis, its impact on the Moldovan economy and the development opportunities. Its aim is to promote investment projects and facilitate the dialogue between the investors, local companies and the authorities, especially in the rural areas.
The program of the Business Week includes business sessions involving representatives of companies from Romania, Russia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland and other countries. The Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer will organize a roundtable meeting themed “Innovative networks – the new regional cooperation formula.”
The organizational costs are estimated at 250,000 lei. They will be covered with the financial resources of the Export Promotion Program.
The fee for organizing the Vienna Economic Forum in Chisinau is €16,000. Such a forum was held earlier in Chisinau. It is an economic forum popularizing and promoting investment opportunities in the region from the Adriatic Sea to the Black Sea.
The Government approved the nominal composition of the committee that will organize the Moldova Business Week 2010. The committee will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar. Deputy Minister of Economic Sergiu Ciobanu was named as deputy chairman, while the executive director of the Moldovan Investment Attraction and Export Promotion and Organization Andrei Timus as secretary.
