The reform agenda of the Government aimed at improving the investment climate and at supporting the business environment was discussed in a meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and representatives of the business community, members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova, the European Business Association and the Foreign Investors Association on May 24, IPN reports, quoting the executive’s press service.
“The Government has a lot of will and is determined to do reforms. At the same time, the values guiding us create the preconditions needed for ensuring transparency in activity and sincere discussions with society. As regards the views, I want to say that our final goal or the country project is to ensure good living conditions for the people at home, in a country built on the European values. Only this way can we create a favorable business environment for everyone,” said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
The Premier spoke about the measures taken by the executive to facilitate business activity like the institution of the moratorium on state inspections, reduction in the number of authorizing documents, implementation of the one-stop shop conception and reformation of the inspection bodies.
“There were drafted a number of amendments to the legislation aimed at ensuring predictability and transparency in state inspections. Next year we will start to reduce the number of inspection institutions so that only 10 of the 69 institutions and four national regulators remain,” stated Pavel Filip.
Towards the end of the meeting, the interlocutors considered possibilities of creating an interactive platform of communication on the problems and obstacles encountered by entrepreneurs, including through the Economic Council under the Premier, which includes representatives of the business community.
