Foreign exchange reserves rose over US$21m in June

The foreign exchange reserves in June increased by over US$21 million from May to US$1,210.07 million. In May, they totaled US$1,188.76 million, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the National Bank of Moldova.
According to the central bank, the foreign exchange reserves grew following its interventions on the currency market from where it purchased foreign currency to the value of US$14.10 million, the appreciation of the exchange rates of the currencies that form the foreign exchange reserves against the dollar by about US$13.81 million, and the accumulation of revenues of US$2.54 million after administering the reserves and of other incomes of US$0.24 million.
There were made payments to service Moldova’s foreign debt, including the debt of US$3.29 million to the IMF, other external payments of US$3.16 million and, respectively, net payments resulting from the decrease of US$2.93 million in the obligatory foreign exchange reserves.
