Foreign citizens to receive free visas for visiting Moldova during National Day of Wine celebrations

During the National Day of Wine celebrations, foreign citizens who will visit Moldova will receive free of charge entrance-exit visas for a period of 30 days (15 days before and 15 days after the celebrations). A draft law in this respect passed both readings of the on Thursday, October 5. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, doubling the period of the simplified visa regime allows expanding possibilities of accustoming foreign citizens with the qualities of the national products, which will contribute to attracting more foreign investors to Moldova. Politically speaking, the operated modifications will once again prove the openness of Moldova and will contribute to developing friendship relations, strengthening economic and commercial connections with other countries. The National Day of Wine is celebrated in the second Sunday of October. The first edition of the celebration was organized in 2002. According to the organizers, the event aims at promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova, of the local wine production and at developing tourism.
