The conclusions of the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union means ascertaining of democratic degradation in the Republic of Moldova, political commentator Alexei Tulbure stated in the program “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

According to him, the conclusions of the European Council are a kind of death certificate for Moldova’s European integration with the current government. “The tone of this document shows that those from Brussels realize that they have to deal with persons who have nothing in common with the European values, who captured the state and simply try to keep it within particular limits. It is a great national shame for us, after nine years of declared European integration, to get a document that it is the most critical one,” said Alexei Tulbure.

Liberal MP Lilian Carp said the Foreign Affairs Council is trying to say that the rules of democracy are being violated in the Republic of Moldova and we have a controlled state. It draws attention to several subjects that it considers endanger the rule of law in Moldova, such as the freedom of the media, selective justice and the quality of the future Parliament. “There is an amalgam of problems showing that the Republic of Moldova continues to slip towards an authoritarian state,” he stated.

Deputy head of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Alexandru Slusari said it became clear for the EU that Moldova turned into the success story of a clan. “This government certainly does not deserve to receive financing” he stated.

The Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union on February 26 reaffirmed its support for the Republic of Moldova, but underlined that this support depends on the implementation of real reforms, especially in the corruption fighting, justice and economic sectors.
