For the four MP seats, 29 candidates are competing

Concurrently with the general local elections, today, October 20, snap parliamentary elections are held in four uninominal constituencies: no.17, 33, 48 and 50. For the four vacant MP mandates, in the electoral race there have been registered 29 candidates, reports IPN.

At a press briefing, Dorin Cimil, the chair of the Central Election Commission, has said that in uninominal constituencies no. 17 and 33, voters are expected to elect their MP in the same stations where the general local elections are held.

Constituency no. 17: Nisporeni territorially includes the town of Nisporeni and 22 other settlements, as well as three other settlements in the district of Strășeni. Voters will vote at polling stations 17 / 1-17 / 50.

Constituency no. 33 of the municipality of Chisinau territorially includes the suburbs of Codru, Durlești, Sangera, Revaca, Dobrogea, Băcioi, Brăila, Trușeni. Voters will vote at polling stations 33 / 1-33 / 27.

For constituency no. 48 polling stations have been arranged in settlements under the constitutional jurisdiction of the central public authorities. Constituency no. 48 The South-Transnistrian region comprises the towns of Slobozia, Tighina and Tiraspol.

85 polling stations were open for electoral constituency no. 50. To the west of the Republic of Moldova, 85 polling stations are open in 22 states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Hungary.

The chair of the CEC states that there is no technical possibility to reflect online the voting process separately in the four constituencies.

Moldovans staying abroad will vote based on the passport of the Republic of Moldova, including expired passports, or sailor's booklet, within the polling stations set up outside the Republic of Moldova.
