This year is rich in fodder. Last winter the animals suffered hunger, but this winter the food for them will be in sufficient quantities. The head of the Sheep and Goat Breeders Association Pintilii Bulgaru has told IPN that the farmers already started to make reserves of fodder. The plants developed well this year.

“The animal breeders have stored fodder. The crops are large. The grains of a worse quality were stored for feeding animals. The corn harvest is also expected to be high,” said Pintilii Bulgaru.

He also said that the fodder prices are not high. The animal breeders did the calculations and know how much fodder they need for winter.

According to preliminary data, the wheat crop this year is the largest in the last ten years. The farmers plan to gather large quantities of corn. Last winter, many breeders had to slaughter a part of the animas as they didn’t have enough fodder. Last summer’s drought destroyed the plants and there was not much grass for silage.
