The Chisinau family doctors will examine the persons with pandemic or seasonal flu-like symptoms at home starting with November 9. Only the persons in a serious condition will be hospitalized, while the rest will receive treatment at home. The statements were made by the acting head of the Chisinau Health Division Luminita Suveica at Monday’s meeting of the municipal services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. The examination of the persons with flu-like symptoms at home will enable to detect the disease early and isolate the infected persons. The family doctors will provide the patients with antiviral medications even if they do not have health policy, Luminita Suveica said. The official also said that all the beds at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Tom Ciorba” have been occupied. 100 places have been prepared for patients in a serious condition at the Municipal Hospital No. 4, more places at the Archangel Michael Hospital, 40 places are the children’s infectious diseases hospital, 500 places at the Railway Hospital, and 100 places at the Narcology Hospital. If need be, places will be allocated at the children’s hospital “Valentin Ignatenco”. A mini-section with five beds was outfitted at the Maternity Hospital No. 2 for pregnant women. Iurie Panzaru, the head of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, said that all the medical institutions have worked under a quarantine regime since November 6, while the relevant services have worked round the clock since November 8. A quarantine regime will be introduced in kindergartens on November 9. The public units of transport will be obligatorily disinfected. As many as 200,000 capsules of Tamiflu will come to Moldova by the middle of this week. They will be distributed to all the patients, even to those who do not have health policy. A number of 615 suspect cases of pandemic A (H1N1) flu have been recorded in Moldova by November 9. The virus was detected in 316 cases. Three persons have died. The cause of death of a five-year-old child from Catemir is not yet clear. He died at the Mother and Child Center in Chisinau allegedly because of pneumonia. Eighty-two samples of blood are now being examined.
