A girl aged 12 from Valea Perjei village of Taraclia district died several days ago because of flu complications. The medical examiners found out that she had flu in a serious form that affected her lungs.
Assistant of the epidemiologist of the Taraclia Public Health Center Svetlana Stoianova has told IPN that the family doctor on February 6 diagnosed the girl with acute viral infection and prescribed her treatment at home. The girl felt worse at night and her parents called an ambulance in the morning. She died when the ambulance reached the hospital.
Specialists took samples from the girl’s parents and from persons with whom the girl had been in contact. The father also had symptoms of flu at an early stage.
Several days ago, a woman aged 45 from Chisinau municipality died after developing complications of AH1N1 flu.
