The State Tax Service (SFS) will carry out monitoring and verification actions, between August 31 and September 1, on taxpayers who sell flowers in authorized markets and trade establishments in the municipalities of Chișinău and Bălți, in order to prevent illegal flower trade and tax avoidance.
According to a SFS press release, these measures are prompted by the increased demand for flowers on the eve of September 1, the Day of Knowledge, which increases the risk of undeclared sales and tax avoidance.
The SFS will monitor the extent to which traders apply cash registers and control equipment when receiving cash payments and if they have registered their entrepreneurial activity in some legal-organizational form.
The national tax authority urged all taxpayers to comply with the legal provisions and urged buyers to ask for the receipt when purchasing flowers.
