A family doctor from Floresti was arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center on charges of traffic of influence. In a communique, the Center says the woman asked for €500 for influencing members of the Soroca Medical Vitality Examination Commission, which serves also Floresti district, to grant an invalidity degree, IPN reports.
According to the denouncer, afterward the doctor asked for an extra €300 for the same service. She was caught in the act of taking this last tranche.
The woman was put under arrest for 72 hours. She faces two to six years in jail or a fine of 60,000 to 80,000 lei.
