The waters of the Prut and Nistu rivers move back from almost all the settlements, Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo.
The level of the Prut water has decreased in parts by up to 38 centimeters. The releases from the Costesti-Stanca reservoir represent 400 cubic meters per second. The level of water in the reservoir fell by 12 centimeters
The Nistru water level also goes down. In Ocnita, it fell by one meter, while in Vadul lui Voda – by 70 centimeters.
The efforts to reinforce and stop up the barriers go on. A barrier of about 250 meters is being built in Leuseni. In Obileni, rescuers and military men pump water, while in Nemteni the opening in the barrage is being stopped up.
Four persons, including two children, have been recently evacuated from a house in Gotesti village of Cantemir district, which risks being flooded. 100 persons were yesterday evacuated from Gheltosu, Cantemir, while 30 persons from Stoianovca, Cantemir.
