The State Hydrometeorology Service said the latest heavy precipitation significantly contributed to the rise in the level of water in rivers and lakes. More rain is forecast and the level of water is expected to increase by 0.3-1.7 meters in small rivers. Intensive leakages on sloping areas and floods are possible in parts.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Weather Forecasts Center Gennady Rosca said the amount of precipitation that fell recently is typical for this period of the year. There was not much rain in this period last year because it was a drought.

Today, June 2, the weather will be unstable. There will be rain with hail, in parts torrential. The State Hydrometeorology Service said the high today will be 23°C, in southern Moldova.

Thunderstorms are expected the coming days. Daytime temperatures will oscillate between 20 and 25°C, while nighttime temperatures – between 12 and 16°C. On June 5, the temperatures will rise to 28°C.
