Flood-hit people from Transnistria to get compensations to revamp dwellings till September 1

According to the regional parliament's speaker, Yevgeni Shevchuk, the financial aid is rising to a total of $23,500, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in the area reports. The victims will receive up 25,000 Transnistrian rubles (about $3,000), depending on the damages they incurred, as the losses are assessed by special commissions. The aid will be granted only to the people who lived in their houses during the floods. On 12 August, according to weather forecasts, the Nistru should retreat its water to its usual stream bed. On 9 August, the regional authorities canceled the state of a emergency announced on July 28. The water level in Camenca is down 129 cm, in Bender – 44, in Slobozia – 33. The road between Chitcani and Bender is still covered in water. The pass on the bridge in the village of Nezavertailovka towards Ukraine is closed. According to the latest data, 689 houses have been flooded in Transnistrian area, 28 of which cannot be revamped, as 1,728 people were displaced.
