Five villages elect mayors on Sunday

On Sunday, November 11, five localities in Moldova will elect their mayors in snap elections, Info-Prim Neo learned from secretary of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Andrei Volentir. The electoral budget is 174.500 lei. In Morenii Noi commune, Ungheni district, the mayor died in the tragic accident in August. Serghei Suprovici (PDM) and Vladislav Radetchi (PLDM) will run for the vacant position. Similarly, Danu commune in Glodeni district is without a mayor after the previous one died. Four candidates will take part in the electoral race: Mihail Ursu (PDM), Zinovia Timinscaia (PCRM), Serghei Ivancenco (PLDM) and Mihail Ursul (independent). In Albina commune, Cimislia district, the mayor resigned and now two candidates compete for the chair: Iurie Mazur (PCRM) and Nicolae Bacos (independent). Another mayor resigned is that of Hristic village in Soroca district. The candidates to replace him are Dumitru Cibotari (PDM), Mihai Moraru (PCRM) and Ivan Alexei (PL). In Carpesti village, Cantemir district, the court annulled the elections of 2011 and repeated elections will take place on Sunday. The mayoral candidates are Ion Bazu (PDM), Veaceslav Dogaru (PLDM) and Sergiu Butuc (PCRM). The mayors will be elected for a term of 3 years until the next general local elections.
