Five sausage and meat producers do not meet the conditions of manufacturing and keeping products. According to the Consumer Protection Agency, 8 of the 45 samples taken from Chisinau shops do not meet the norms by the physical-chemical indicators, IPN reports.
The content of phosphor additive and the moisture level exceed the admissible norms in a number of sausages made by SA “Basarabia Nord”, and SRL “Pegas”. Similar irregularities were identified in products made by SRL “Alex Neosim”, SRL “Alcalit”, and “Cardiax – Plus”.
Inspections were also carried out at these companies’ production units. Following repeated laboratory tests, it was established that only the products of SRL “Alcalit” didn’t meet the moisture norms.
The Consumer Protection Agency issued eight prescriptions for removing the identified irregularities and imposed fines of 77,000 lei.
The higher moisture level in sausages does not affect the consumers’ health, but can have an effect on consumers’ economic interests.
