Five persons, including a child aged 6, lost their lives in fires during the last days. Another two children had been saved from the fire that occurred in the dwelling they were staying.
According to the Exceptional Situations Department, a house located in Mihaileni village, Rascani took fire on December 21 at 23.00 because of a breakdown of the heating stove. The fire destroyed all the material goods and caused the crashing of house’s ceiling and roof. A boy aged 6 was found among the ruins. He was the sun of the house owners.
The firemen who came to put up a fire occurred in an apartment from Soroca town on December 23 managed to save two children – aged 1 and 4. The owner aged 47 was hospitalised with acute intoxication with carbon monoxide.
A fire burst out in a house located in Piscaresti, Rezina on the same night at 1.00 because of a failure occurred at the stove. A woman aged 73 died because of the intoxication with smoke and gases.
Another fire blazed out in a house from Stefanesti village at the same hour and killed the owner aged 60 who was smoking in bed. The same cause of death was noted in the case of a man aged 40 from Larga village, Briceni. The house burnt almost completely.
2489 fires occurred in Moldova from the beginning of the year. 235 persons died, including 4 children.
