Five new ambassadors present credentials

President Nicolae Timofti received the credentials of five new ambassadors to Moldova, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.

The five new ambassadors are: Ambassador of Montenegro based in Bucharest Milan Begovic, Ambassador of Ireland based in Bucharest Gerard Corr, Ambassador of Canada based in Bucharest Joanne Lemay, Ambassador of Macedonia based in Bucharest Pande Lazarevski, and Ambassador of Norway based in Bucharest Tove Bruvik Westberg.

Nicolae Timofti informed the diplomats about the reforms implemented by the Moldovan authorities within the program to modernize the country. “The policy aimed at meeting the EU standards will contribute to improving the living standards,” said the head of state. The ambassadors congratulated the President on the occasion of the initiating of the Association Agreement with the EU, welcoming the country’s aligning with the values of the Western civilization.

The head of state and the ambassadors accredited to Chisinau discussed the political cooperation and the prospects of the economic and cultural cooperation.
