Five motions were introduced into Parliament during the legislature’s spring session 2020. Four of the motions entered the legislative procedure, while one motion wasn’t accepted, shows the statistical report of the legislative body that is quoted by the Parliament’s General Communication and Public Relations Division.

Of the four motions that entered the legislative procedure, three were simple motions, while one was a no confidence motion. None of them was adopted, IPN reports.

The no confidence motion was registered by the PPPDA, being examined in Parliament on July 20.  Forty-six MPs voted to dismiss the Chicu Government at a time when at least 51 votes were needed.

The parliamentary majority also didn’t support the dismissal of Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu. The simple motion proposed by the members of the parliamentary group Pro Moldova and of the Shor group, which was examined on July 10, didn’t gain the necessary number of votes.

The motion against the Ministry of Economy was rejected on March 12.

A simple motion against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, proposed by the MPs of the PPPDA and PAS on February 13, wasn’t accepted by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau because it identified procedural violations. At the start of March, the MPs of the PPPDA submitted again a simple motion. The party’s vice president Alexandru Slusari made a request to this effect to the Standing Bureau. The motion wasn’t carried.

The Parliament’s spring session this year began on February 3 and ended on July 20.
