Five citizens of Moldova were repatriated from the Gaza Strip following the tense situation created in the region. The repatriation was possible through a military charter flight of Romania, which transported the Moldovan citizens from Amman to Bucharest together with a group of 50 Romanians and eight Hungarians, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the transportation of the Moldovans to Chisinau was ensured by the Government of Moldova.
The operation was coordinated by the Ministry with the assistance of Moldova’s embassies in Israel, Romania and Turkey, which worked with the authorities of the states involved to provide the necessary assistance.
The Ministry will continue to monitor the situation in the Gaza Strip so as to protect the rights of the Moldovans in the region.
