Five representatives of the Republic of Moldova are competing today, August 8, at the Olympic Games in Paris. These are athlete Dimitriana Bezede, who will contend in shot put, Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu – in single canoe, Anastasia Nikita – in wrestling, and Andrian Mardare - in the final of javelin throw, IPN reports.
Athlete Dimitriana Bezede enters the shot put competition at 11:25 a.m.
In canoe single 200m, Maria Olărașu will contend in Series 2, while Daniela Cociu in Series 3, starting at 11:30 a.m.
Anastasia Nikita will appear on the wrestling mat at 12:30 p.m. and will meet Sandra Paruszewski of Germany in the first fight of the up to 57 kg weight class.
The javelin throw final that will involve Andrian Mardare is scheduled to start at 09:25 p.m. In the qualifying stage, Valeriu Lungu’s pupil achieved the result of 84.13 meters.
