Five outstanding movies produced recently by Polish filmmakers will be shown within the Polish Film Festival in Chisinau during five days. The sixth festival was opened at the Gaudeamus Center of Culture in the evening of November 24, Info-Prim Neo reports. Polish Ambassador to Moldova Bogumil Luft said the event became an annual tradition where there are screened some of the newest pictures. “These movies are about life in Poland. I hope that this meeting with the Polish pictures will be a meeting with Poland,” he stated. The festival started with the movie “Capacity Exam 1947” that was made in 2010 by director and scriptwriter Janusz Majewski. Project coordinator Bartosz Cmoch, expert in mass media and political matters, said it is a humorous story about the adolescence of Ludwik in Poland during the first years after the war. The young man moved to Krakow and was admitted to one of the best high schools in the town, where he made effort to earn his colleagues’ respect. Over the next days, there will be shown other pictures made in 2010, including “Erratum”, under the direction of Marek Lechki; “Venice”, under the direction of Jan Jakub Kolski, “The Little Rose”, under the direction of Jan Kidawa-Błoński, and “Johanna”, under the direction of Feliks Falk. The sixth Polish Film Festival will continue until November 28. Manager of the Gaudeamus Center of Culture Lidia Troianowski said the screenings start at 6pm. The movies will be subtitled in Romanian. Entrance is free of charge. The Polish Film Festival is organized by the Gaudeamus Center of Culture in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Moldova and the Polish Institute in Bucharest.
