The first five new buses of the consignment of 100 ISUZU buses bought by the municipality arrived in Chisinau on July 28, mayor general Ion Ceban informed through social media, being quoted by IPN.
The buses are outfitted with air conditioning system, have a low, retractable floor that ensures the access of persons with special needs. The guarantee period of the buses is 6.5 years. In the period, the producer will ensure the maintenance of the units of transport.
Under the procurement contract, another 28 buses will be delivered in the immediate period. The rest will be shipped to Chisinau by the end of this year. The total cost of the buses is about €12.5 million.
Ten VDL buses from the Netherlands, of the batch of 58 used buses bought by the municipality, will be delivered by the end of this week. Eighteen buses of VOLVO and MAN makes from Norway have been shipped to the Urban Bus Company so far. According to Ion Ceban, the first four of these buses were already distributed on routes in the suburban settlements, where public transport was urgently needed.
All the units of transport will be subject to technical overall and will be then put on routes in the city and its suburban settlements.
