The fish supplied to the kindergarten in Tohatin commune of Chisinau municipality was safe to eat. Such a conclusion was reached by the Chisinau Public Health Center that presented the results of the examination of samples taken from the consignment that seemed to be of a doubtful quality. The case was reported by employees of the kindergarten two weeks ago. These established that the fish was very soft when it was unfrozen. The institution’s administration decided to exclude it from the children’s menu and informed the competent bodies, IPN reports.

The average number of parasites in the examined consignment didn’t exceed the admissible norm. No parasites were detected in meat. There were also found no coliform, staphylococcus Aureus or salmonella bacteria.

The Public Health Center also said that the samples taken from a group of Kindergarten No. 25 of Chisinau, where a number of children got sick, contained rotavirus. During February 16-20, there were reported six cases of acute diarrheal diseases among children of this group. A number of irregularities were identified then and the group was closed. This resumed work on February 27.
