The weekend 25 and 26 March 2006 were announced as working days for all fiscal offices of the country, in order to ensure the reception of as many as possible fiscal declarations regarding the incomes of ordinary persons and juridical ones. 31 March is the deadline for presenting the declarations. The deputy manager of the State Fiscal Inspectorate, Ion Sturzu, said that regional fiscal offices would work as well on weekend of 1 and 2 April. This does not mean the prolongation of the deadline, but the care in order not to create additional problems related to fiscal fines for persons surcharged during the weekdays and would present them a day or two later. Ion Sturzu mentioned that for non-presenting in time the declarations on income the Fiscal Code stipulates application of a fine of 5%, and for everyday of non-presenting it there would be calculated fines of 0.1% of the value of fiscal obligations. In the same time, for non-paying these taxes it could be applied another fine of 2% of the value of fiscal obligations per month. The Administrative Code also stipulates that for non-presenting in time the fiscal declarations, high level persons are applied another fine of 15 to 25 minimum salaries. IFPS deputy manager considers that during last years the population got well disciplined regarding the compliance of the fiscal commitments. In the same time, he said that those who did not present to deadline have to be aware that sooner or later they would be find by the Fiscal Office and would be forced to present the declarations and to comply with their fiscal obligations, only in this case, even the fiscal obligations would not be very high, there would be applied tough sanctions. IFPS foresees an increase of fiscal incomes of the declarations on income of natural and juridical persons for 2005, as the latest statistic reports show an increase of the salaries and of the number of employees in the national economy. But the real figures will be known only at the end of June, as data processing is related to declarations last to 3 months. There will be intensified in June as well the work with the contributors who did not present the fiscal declarations for last year.
