The first-twelfth graders will study remotely for an indefinite period of time starting with March 20. The kindergartens will continue to work as until now. The decisions were taken by the Extraordinary Public Health Commission of the municipality of Chisinau and were announced by Mayor Ion Ceban through a video on Facebook, IPN reports.

According to the mayor, until the children study remotely, measures will be taken to immunize the teaching staff and the non-teaching personnel involved in the education process. There are now about 15,000 teachers in the municipality.

The Commission also discussed the setting up of vaccination centers inside the Local Medical Associations and subdivisions of the municipality. The first stage to immunize the personnel of medical institutions is over and the second stage is to be launched. The mayor hopes emphasis will be placed on the vaccination of teaching staff.

The Central Market, shopping centers, recreational facilities will work according to the program announced by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, but they will be under very strict monitoring.

As from April 1, the religious ceremonies will be held outside so as to reduce the risk of infection.

The wearing of masks continues to be mandatory in closed and open places as is the maintaining of social distancing and disinfection of hands. The public transport in Chisinau will work at full capacity so as to avoid crowdedness.
