The first 21 participants in the PARE 1+1 Program on Monday, December 13, started their training course under the Program, Info-Prim Neo reports. The program involves attracting remittances into the national economy through government co-financing intended at helping Moldovan migrant workers, as well as their 1st degree relatives, start and develop their businesses. The co-financing is done according to a 1+1 formula, that is, each invested remittance-originated leu will be topped up with one leu granted under the Program. The maximum amount of the non-reimbursable aid is 200,000 lei. The beneficiaries of the Program have the opportunity to attend training courses providing knowledge in entrepreneurial matters. Iulia Iabanji, the director of the governmental Organization for SME Development, the implementer of the Program, said the 10-day course is intended to provide knowledge about how to register a firm, administrate it, keep financial accounts, and knowledge in marketing and financial management. “The selected persons are chiefly from rural areas. They returned to the country after working several years abroad. There are also families, young persons, and even older ones. All of them will start a business for the first time”, said Iulia Iabanji, adding that a new course involving 22 trainees is to follow in February. The PARE 1+1 Program will be implemented over a time-frame of 2 years during which the Government intends to help migrant workers start and develop 500 businesses.
