The Keystone Moldova Training Center, which was developed in the form of social entrepreneurship, was opened in Chisinau on March 24. The Center will offer the interested organizations and persons services to organize meetings, training seminars, forums and conferences. The made profit will be used to support the life of deinstitutionalized persons with intellectual disabilities in the community, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the NGO Keystone Moldova, the Center includes a modern training hall accessible to persons with physical disabilities. It is outfitted with last generation video/audio equipment and adjusted boxes for interpreters and allows for simultaneous interpreting.

Keystone Moldova executive director Ludmila Malcoci said the organization supports the local public authorities to develop community family support and placement services for persons with disabilities. Over the past three years, more than 1 500 persons with intellectual disabilities and their families befitted from such services.

“When the local public budgets are tight, the training center will be a complementary financial source for ensuring quality living in the community for persons with intellectual disabilities. This will also be an opportunity for changing the lives of other persons, who are now in residential institutions,” stated Ludmila Malcoci.

Thus, given its social purpose, the Keystone Moldova Training Center enables the future clients to directly contribute to changing the lives of the people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

The Keystone Moldova Training Center, which was developed with support from Soros Foundation Moldova, is situated at 42/1Albisoara St.
