The Chisinau teachers want European working conditions, interministerial partnerships, classes on entrepreneurship and educational projects both in rural and urban areas. The teachers expressed their wishes in the opening of the first Teachers Forum. The event includes workshops where the teachers will discuss problems and submit recommendations intended for the competent authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This event is something of a novelty. There are many problems in education that should be addressed. That’s why we are trying to find solutions though the agency of those who implement different strategies and methodologies in education,” said the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb. The forum started on February 24 and will close on February 26. Angela Cutasevici, deputy head of the Theoretical High School “Gheorghe Asachi”, who moderated a workshop centering on educational projects, said there are no interministerial partnerships that would facilitate the implementation of educational projects. “Representatives of the Ministry of Health should teach classes on a healthy lifestyle, while those of the Ministry of the Interior – classes on road safety,” Angela Cutasevici exemplified. Vice director of the Theoretical High School “Lucian Blaga” Valentina Olaru, who moderated a workshop on the development of entrepreneurial abilities, said the improvement of school curriculum should be a priority. “We do not have a modernized curriculum. We have an analytical program worked out by representatives of public organizations that provide logistic support in the implementation of entrepreneurial programs, but we need a regulatory normative documents adopted by the Ministry of Education,” she stated. Pavel Macari, head of the High School “Constantin Sibirschi”, who moderated the workshop “Chisinau School: between history and prospects”, said the discussions will center on performance-related problems. “We will consider methods of improving the education system and adjusting it to the European values,” he said, adding that the teachers plead for devoting increased attention to the foreign languages. The Teachers Forum will be organized every year. This year’s theme of the forum is “Chisinau Dialogues”.
