First student failed for cheating on Baccalaureate exam

A student today received an automatic fail for cheating in the first such incident of the ongoing Baccalaureate examination session. The incident occurred at an examination center in Chisinau.

Anatol Topală, director of the National Agency on Curriculum and Evaluation, told IPN the failed student will not be able to attend the rest of the exams during the current session. In order to get a Baccalaureate diploma, he will have to wait until next year.

Today’s exam was attended by 14,878 students, including 12,017 who took Romanian literature and 2,861 Russian literature.

The next exam will be foreign language on Tuesday. Of the total 15,451 students, 10,138 will take English, 5,060 French, 139 German, 41 Spanish, 24 Italian, and 49 Turkish.
