First Strongman championship held in Moldova

The first Strongman championship took place in Moldova. The event was part of the campaign I Love Moldova, organized under the patronage of Moldovan MP Igor Dodon, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the organizers.
The championship took place on Sunday, August 7, 2011, in the town of Vadul lui Voda and gathered sportsmen from all of Moldova, including UTA Gagauzia and the Transnistrian region.
The athletes competed in 5 tests: walking with two balloons of 100 kg, the "axis of Apollo" - raising an axle with two car wheels weighing 150 kg, pushing a car wheel of 250 kg; "Anti-Gravity" - raising a log weighing 100 kg as many times as possible, moving a stone of 100 kg by any means as far as possible.
Emilianov from Bender won the championship, followed by Serghei Mirzenco (Chisinau) and Leonid Armandji (Ciadir-Lunga). The winners received cups, gifts and money prizes.
Strongman is a weightlifting competition in which the strongest men compete in various events.
