First new trolleybuses will start work by Easter holidays

The first 20 new trolleybuses will start to run on route No. 22 in Chisinau before the Easter holidays. “Let’s make a present to the inhabitants of Chisinau municipality on Easter,” Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said in the April 11 meeting of City Hall officials, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Gheorghe Morgoci, director of the Electric Transport Company, said the 15 trolleybuses that got to Chisinau can start work. The last five trolleybuses of the first batch will arrive in the capital city this week. The first trolleybuses bought by the Chisinau administration from the Belarusian plant Belkommunmash were delivered late in March. The municipal authorities say the new trolleybuses are outfitted with electronic ad posting and ticket collection system, have three double doors, plastic chairs upholstered with blue cloth and wheelchair access. All the 102 trolleybuses will be brought to Chisinau by June 1.
