The first director general of the National Agency for Energy Regulations (NAER) Anatolie Saracuţa, who was diagnosed with COVID-19, passed away. The announcement was made by the NAER and SA “Moldovagaz”, IPN reports.
“Mister Saracuța took part as an author in designing the legal framework on electrical power and natural gas. Under his tutelage, important innovative reformation projects were successfully implemented in the energy sector, being financed by the development partners,” runs a press release of SA “Moldovagaz”.
Anatolie Saracuța was one of the authors of the first tariff methodology. After he joined SA “Moldovagaz”, he devoted himself to a number of difficult organizational areas, including to the implementation of the EU’s Third Energy Package.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, 17,800 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moldova so far. The death toll from the novel coronavirus stands at 588.
