The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau on July 11 started to distribute season tickets to primary school pupils who will travel free by public transport in the municipality of Chisinau. The municipality said the pupils could use the season tickets during the vacation as well, IPN reports.
The head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Vitalie Mihalache, in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, said the season tickets for the first-fourth graders will be issued in educational institutions, at the parents’ request. It was decided to distribute this type of season ticket in summer. This way the students will be able to travel freely during the summer vacation too, when they go to extracurricular activities.
Vitalie Mihalache also said that over 45,200 season tickets have been sold so far and the season tickets for half a year are the most popular ones. These are followed by those valid for one month and those valid for three months. The authorities already prepared the order for a new print run of season tickets.
The prices of season tickets depending on the category of passengers and their period of validity are as follows:
General passengers: 234 lei –1 month, 594 lei – 3 months, 972 lei – 6 months;
School students: 117 lei – 1 month, 297 lei – 3 months, 486 lei – 6 months;
College and university students: 164 lei – 1 month; 416 lei – 3 months, 680 lei – 6 months;
Education personnel: 164 lei – 1 month; 416 lei – 3 months, 680 lei – 6 months;
Medical personnel: 164 lei – 1 month, 416 lei – 3 months, 680 lei – 6 months;
Heads of one parent families: 140 lei – 1 month, 356 lei – 3 months, 583 lei – 6 months;
Families with many children: 117 lei – 1 month, 297 lei – 3 months, 486 lei – 6 months,;
Business entities: 235 lei – 1 month, 594 lei – 3 months, 972 lei – 6 months.
A number of categories of passengers will travel free by public transport on the presentation of confirmation documents.
