First five trolleybuses to arrive in Chisinau

The first five new trolleybuses made at a plant in Belarus will come to Chisinau on Wednesday, March 30. Currently, the units of transport are waiting for customs clearance at the Railway Station in Ocnita, the Chisinau City Hall has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. More trolleybuses set off from Minsk to Chisinau. Five of them are approaching Ukraine's Kiev. A week ago, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca visited the plant Belkommunmash, where the trolleybuses are produced. The units of transport use by about 40% less power than the trolleybuses running in Chisinau. They are outfitted with electronic ad posting and ticket collection system, have three double doors, plastic chairs upholstered with blue cloth and wheelchair access. The Chisinau City Hall purchased 102 trolleybuses from Belkommunmash within a project to modernize the public transport in the municipality. The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, and the European Union. All the trollyebuses will be brought to Chisinau by June 1.
