A crosswalk at the intersection of the Chisinau streets Docuceaev and Hancesti was marked in 3D format within a social campaign launched by an oil company to educate children on traffic rules and increase traffic security and to sensitize drivers to the correct behavior in traffic, IPN reports.
The representative of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Uliana Catan said that 24 more crosswalks will be marked in 3D format in Chisinau and in Balti. This type of pedestrian crossing creates an optical illusion of relief, ensuring greater visibility both for pedestrians and for motorists.
The representative of the oil company that initiated the campaign said the crosswalks in 3D are very useful in intersections with heavy traffic and those situated near shops and education institutions.
According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, the 135 road accidents that occurred in crosswalks in Moldova so far this year claimed seven lives.
